  • Saturday's game is part of Wabash College's annual Homecoming celebration. Homecoming began on November 12, 1920, with a football game against Western Normal (now Western Michigan). Wabash is 67-26-8 all-time in Homecoming contests, including a 2-0-1 record versus Denison in Homecoming games.
     
  • Wabash has won 25 consecutive Homecoming games dating back to a 29-21 loss to Anderson University on October 28, 1995. The Little Giants' largest Homecoming win occurred in 2014 with a 63-0 win against Allegheny.
     
  • Wabash has played Denison three times as a Homecoming opponent. The two teams played to a scoreless tie in 1931. The Little Giants won the 2013 Homecoming matchup 50-13. Denison came to Crawfordsville for Homecoming in 2019 with Wabash claiming a 34-20 victory.
     
  • Wabash owns a 25-5-1 all-time record versus the Big Red and is 11-1-1 in games played in Crawfordsville. The Little Giants have won 18 of the previous 19 games against Denison since joining the NCAC, including a 39-38 overtime victory last year in Granville, Ohio. Wabash defeated the Big Red 34-20 in the last meeting between the two teams in Crawfordsville in 2019.
     
  • Wabash scored on its first five possessions and seven of eight offensive series in Saturday's 48-14 victory at Wooster to open the North Coast Athletic Conference portion of the schedule. The Little Giants topped the 600-yard mark for total offense for the second time this season, totaling 627 yards overall (192 rush, 435 pass).
     
  • The Wabash defense held Wooster scoreless for the last 40 minutes of the game. The Little Giants forced a fumble at the goal line in the fourth quarter to turn aside the final Wooster scoring attempt. Gavin Ruppert led the Wabash defense with ten tackles. Will Olive forced the late fumble that Steven Thomas recovered for the game's only turnover.
     
  • Liam Thompson completed 28-of-31 passes for a 90.3 completion percentage, fourth-best in school history. Thompson completed his first ten passes in a row in the opening two periods. He threw for a career-best 435 yards and connected on four touchdown passes for the third time in his career and the second time this season. Thompson also ran for 23 yards to produce 458 yards of total offense, the sixth-most in a game in Wabash history. The accomplishments earned Thompson the NCAC Football Offensive Athlete of the Week Award for the second time this season.
     
  • Scouting Denison
    Denison enters today's game with a 3-0 record after posting wins over Capital (43-31), first-year program Hilbert (63-0, and an opening NCAC win against Oberlin (51-10). The Big Red average 515.7 yards of offense a game to lead the conference and rank 17th in the nation. Denison ranks 12th in passing offense in Division III with an average of 334.7 yards per game.

    Fifth-year quarterback Drew Dawkins leads the Big Red passing game. He has completed42-of-61 passes (68.9 percent) for 623 yards and eight touchdowns through three games. Dawkins is second in the conference behind Liam Thompson in passing touchdowns and trails only Wittenberg's Collin Brown in passing efficiency with a rating of 197.9. Dawkins threw for 147 yards and one score on 18-of-30 passing in the overtime loss to Wabash last season. Senior tight end Mack Marston is the leading receiver for Denison with 17 catches for 277 yards and two scores. Billy Guzzo, sophomore wideout, has found the end zone on three of his six receptions this season. Josh Aiello has scored twice on six total receptions.

    Junior Trey Fabrocini is second in the nation in rushing touchdowns with seven and trails Jatron Bevly from Lakeland with nine rushing TDs. Fabrocini's 340 rushing yards on 53 attempts leads the conference and ranks 15th in the nation. He has topped the 100-yard mark in all three games this season with a season-best effort of 120 yards on 13 carries with three TDs at Hilbert.

    Junior linebacker Jeff Moore leads the Big Red defense with 20 tackles. Senior defensive end and team captain Clay Denstorff has tallied a team-best 4-1/2 tackles for losses of 22 yards and has recorded three sacks for 17 yards. Denstorff, Jonathan Bearden, Roshaune Downie, and Jaylin Epps have intercepted one pass this season. Epps also returned a pair of punt returns for touchdowns last week versus Oberlin.
