Wabash opened the first day of the 2023 Gail Moll Pebworth Swimming and Diving Invitational Friday by scoring five top-ten finishes in the finals. 

Quinn Sweeney, Ethan Johns, John Allen, and Connor Craig combined to place fifth in the finals of the 200-yard freestyle relay with a combined time of 1:2578. 

Sweeney scored a second-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle by posting a time of 4:39.72. Xander Straw added a sixth-place finish by completing the race in 4:47.98. 

Nick Plumb swam to eighth place in the 200-yard individual medley finals, finishing at 1:58.61. Johns finished the 50-yard freestyle in 21.60 to capture eighth place in the finals. 

Wabash scored 110 points on the first day of competition to enter Saturday's prelims in sixth place out of 11 teams. Swimming prelims begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Crawfordsville High School Aquatics Center. Men's one-meter and women's three-meter diving starts at 1 p.m. at the Class of 1950 Natatorium on the Wabash College campus.
