Crawfordsville, Ind. — Wabash College closed out the 2025 Gail Moll Pebworth Invitational with a surge of scoring performances across Sunday's final eight men's events, securing a third-place team finish at the three-day meet held at the Crawfordsville High School Aquatics Center. The Little Giants finished with 1,126 points, behind DePauw (1,532) and Ohio Northern (1,294), and well ahead of fourth-place Franklin (791).
Mason Gilliam opened the finals by winning the 1,650-yard freestyle in 16 minutes, 6.58 seconds.
Carter Ramsey added a sixth-place finish in 17:11.53, and
Aidan Gubbins scored an eighth-place effort in 17:28.70. Teammate
William Renie placed ninth in 17:32.80, followed by
Mark Berger in 10th at 17:33.07.
Ryan West picked up an individual victory in the 200-yard backstroke, posting a season-best time of 1:48.84.
Nicholas Plumb added a season-best 1:53.73 to finish second.
Zach Baty turned in a season-best 1:57.94 for fourth place in the A final, and freshman
Alijah Hall produced a season-best 1:59.83 to take ninth.
In the 100-yard freestyle, junior
Quinn Sweeney placed third in the A final with a personal-best 46.99. Freshman
Nate Marshall earned a 10th-place finish in 49.36. Renie scored a 12th-place finish in the B final with a personal-best 48.79. Senior
John Allen posted a season-best 49.19 for 16th, and sophomore
Lucas Ferreira added a 20th-place finish in a season-best 50.44.
Freshman
Lew Sams finished second in the 200-yard breaststroke with a season-best 2:07.46. Senior
Dane Market placed 12th in 2:16.99, while sophomore
Cooper Kowalski added a 15th-place finish in a season-best 2:18.59. Gubbins scored a 20th-place finish in 2:23.02.
Plumb earned a fourth-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly with a season-best 2:00.31. Gilliam took seventh in 2:01.57, and freshman
Andres Tejada posted a season-best 2:07.27 for 13th. Ramsey added a season-best 2:09.90 to place 16th.
In three-meter diving, sophomore
Liam Fuller scored 18 points by finishing fourth with 246.85 points.
Owen Thomas finished 14th in the 100-yard individual medley with a time of 56.27 in the B final. Freshman
Abbas Hakim added an 18th-place finish in 57.76, while sophomore
Jace Caldwell placed 20th in 58.42.
Wabash closed the invitational with a strong performance in the 400-yard freestyle relay. The A team of West, Renie, Marshall, and Sweeney finished fourth in 3:09.05. The B relay of Baty, Sams, Ferreira, and Allen placed 11th in 3:18.28. The C relay of
Michael Cruzado, Plumb, Thomas, and Gilliam also scored, finishing 15th in 3:21.35.
