GREENCASTLE, IN --- Friday night's dual swimming and diving meet between Wabash College and DePauw University came down to the final relay. The host Tigers took first place in the 400-yard freestyle relay to defeat Wabash 148-146.

Nicholas Plumb,
Justice Wenz,
Quinn Sweeney, and
Ethan Johns placed second in the 200-yard medley relay to open the meet, finishing in 1:37.90. Nick Sommers,
Dane Market,
Connor Craig, and
Daniel Streeter captured third place in the event with a time of 1:40.39.

Sweeney,
John Allen, Craig, and Johns took second place in the final relay, finishing in 3:15.58 and less than two seconds behind the winning relay team from DePauw at 3:13.78.

Plumb added an individual victory in the 100-yard backstroke with a winning time of 54.13.
Barret Smith picked up third place with his finish at 55.67. Plumb added a second victory by winning the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:58.65. He also placed second in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:05.22. Wenz swam to fourth place in the event by finishing in 2:05.97.

Wenz produced a victory of his own in the 100-yard breaststroke with his top time of 1:01.74. Market earned a second-place finish for Wabash with a time of 1:04.00. Wenz scored a second individual victory in the 200-yard breaststroke, swimming to first place in 2:14.84. Market placed second in the event with a time of 2:18.89.

Sweeney scored a first-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly by winning the race in 1:57.98. The freshman also earned a victory in the 500-yard freestyle, winning the event with a time of 4:56.40.

Johns swam to first place in the 100-yard freestyle with a winning time of 48.43.

Wabash swept all of the points in one- and three-meter diving.
Bernardo Morales won the one-meter event with a score of 128.10.
Chayce Howell finished second with 116.10 points.
Alexander Arruza finished third with a score of 113.50, and
Christopher Wiatr took fourth place with 106.80 points. Arruza won the three-meter event with 157.80 points. Morales captured second place with a score of 11.50. Wiatr placed third with 82.30 points in three-meter competition.

Johns scored a second-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle by finishing in 1:47.59. Allen finished the race in 1:51.58 to earn fourth place. Craig placed second in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 22.08. He also placed second in the 100-yard butterfly by finishing in 54.87.

Will Renie scored the top finish for the Little Giants in the 1000-yard freestyle by placing fourth overall with a time of 10:32.88.

The Little Giants will continue training until returning to action on January 12, 2024, at home against Illinois Wesleyan University.
