Wabash won its ninth North Coast Athletic Conference indoor track and field title at the 2023 NCAC Championships concluding Saturday at DePauw University.
The Little Giants added their 18th championship trophy overall, matching the nine outdoor titles already won by the Wabash squad.

Quinn Sholar received the NCAC Men's Field Athlete of the Year Award. Sholar earned All-NCAC honors Saturday with a third-place finish in the weight throw with a season-best distance of 16.45 meters (54 feet). He won the shot put on Friday's first day of competition with a mark of 15.87 meters.
Haiden Diemer-McKinney received the NCAC Men's Newcomer of the Year Award as a part of three conference championship finishes at the meet. The first-year middle-distance runner won the 800-meter run with a time of 1:53.53. He was also part of the Little Giants' first-place distance medley relay team. Diemer-McKinney joined Wil Neubauer,
Howie Steele, and
Brayden Curnutt to win that event with a time of 10:27.89.
Nathan France, Steele, Neubauer, and Diemer-McKinney also won the 4x400-meter relay with a combined time of 3:23.18.
Neubauer also earned individual all-conference honors with a second-place finish in the 800-meter run after finishing in 1:56.09.
Curnutt scored one of the Little Giants' conference championships by winning the mile run with a career-best time of 4:21.73. Teammate
Aidan Makled placed fourth overall by finishing in a career-best 4:28.03.
Will Newby picked up All-NCAC honors with a second-place finish in the 60-meter dash, finishing in 6.95.
Julius Hearns scored a fourth-place finish with a career-best effort of 7.03.
Sly Williams placed eighth in the finals with a season-best time of 7.138.
Newby also earned all-conference honors in the 200-meter dash by finishing in 22.47 to capture third place in the finals.
Kannon Chase earned all-conference honors with a third-place finish in the high jump, clearing 1.92 meters (6 feet, 3.50 inches) for the first time in his collegiate career.
Connor Wakefield added fourth-place points for Wabash in the weight throw with a mark of 15.15 meters (49 feet, 8.50 inches).
Brandon English scored a fifth-place finish with a career-best throw of 14.44 meters (47 feet, 4.50 inches).
Takeshi Greiner led a group of three Wabash sprinters in the 60-meter hurdles. The junior finished in a career-best time of 8.65 to place fifth in the finals of the 60-meter hurdles.
Josh Massaquoi finished in sixth place after crossing the line in 8.691. Giovonni Zappal placed seventh overall by finishing in 8.693.
Nate Joven placed sixth in the pole vault by clearing 4.01 meters (13 feet, 1.75 inches). The Wabash foursome of
Ethan Hurt, Tyler Walls,
Seth Acero, and Hearns placed sixth in the 4x200-meter relay with a time of 1:34.08. Walls added a seventh-place finish in the 400-meter dash by completing the circuit in 53.10.
Joe Barnett and Curnutt finished seventh and eighth in the 3,000-meter run. Barnett posted a career-best time of 8:50.46 to finish seventh overall. Curnutt finished in 8:55.09 to earn an eighth-place finish for the Little Giants.
Wabash scored 157 points to outdistance second-place Denison University with 132 points. DePauw and Wooster tied for third place with 99 points. Wittenberg (92 points), Oberlin (60 points), Ohio Wesleyan (31 points), and Kenyon (29 points) completed the team scoring.
