Wabash scored 24Â top-six finishes, including six individual victories and one relay win, to capture the team title at Saturday's 2023 Indiana Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championship meet at DePauw University.

The highlight of the meet came in the men's 800-meter run, where freshman
Haiden Diemer-McKinney won the race with a time of 1:51 18 to break the meet record as well as the Blackstock Stadium all-time mark. His time ties for sixth-quickest this season by a Division III runner. Teammate
Will Neubauer placed second in the race with a time of 1:54.38.

Brayden Curnutt picked up a victory in the 1500-meter run with a lifetime-best time of 3:58.66 to finish two seconds ahead of the rest of the field.
Aidan Makled raced to third place with his personal-best time of 4:05.45.

Giovonni Zappala crossed the finish line in 57.38 to win the 400-meter hurdles race by turning in his career-best time.
Takeshi Greiner scored a fourth-place finish with a time of 1:00.12.
Karston Runge picked up fifth place with his career-best time of 1:00.65.

Nate Joven cleared 4.10 meters (13 feet, 5.25 inches), winning the pole vault with his career-best height in the event.
Ryan Adams topped out at 3.05 meters (10 feet, 10 inches) to claim sixth place with his career-best height.

Reis Thomas won the discus throw with a top mark of 47.64 meters (156 feet, 3 inches).
Jake Oostman added a first-place finish in the javelin with a career-best throw of 47.56 meters (156 feet).
Ryan Papandria scored a fourth-place finish in the javelin with his toss of 49.94 meters (140 feet, 2 inches). Oostman also scored a third-place finish in the long jump with a leap of 6.46 meters (21 feet, 2.5 inches).
Wyatt Dorsey picked up fifth place in the long jump with a distance of 6.32 meters (20 feet, 9 inches). Â

Christopher Royal, Neubauer, and Diemer-McKinney combined to win the 4x400-meter relay in a season-best time of 3:20.23.

Walls raced to second place in the 400-meter dash by turning in a career-best time of 50.19. Royal placed fourth by finishing in a career-best time of 50.98.
Howie Steele finished in 51.50 to place fifth overall.
Nathan France added a sixth-place finish with a time of 51.33.

Brandon English placed third in the shot put with a mark of 14.84 meters (48 feet, 8.25 inches) for his best career effort.
Thomas Gaines placed fourth in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 15:50.28.
Kannon Chase cleared 1.84 meters (6 feet, 5 inches) to capture fourth place in the high jump. Zappala scored a sixth-place finish by clearing the bat at 1.79 meters (5 feet, 10.5 inches).
Josh Massaquoi captured sixth place in the 110-meter hurdles by finishing in 15.54.

Wabash scored 163.667 points to win the team title, finishing ahead of Rose-Hulman in second place with 143 points. Trine finished third overall with 130.5 points, while DePauw scored 116.333 points to place fourth. Manchester (90.5 points), Hanover (56 points), Franklin (35 points), Anderson (25 points), and Earlham (15 points) completed the nine-team scoring at the meet.
