Wabash Begins Track and Field Season At Wittenberg Opener

Wabash opened the 2024-25 indoor track and field season on Saturday with a handful of Little Giants traveling to Springfield, Ohio, to compete at the non-scoring Wittenberg Tiger Opener.

Freshman Morgyn Clark turned in the top performance with a fifth-place finish in the high jump, clearing a top height of 1.85 meters (6 feet, 0.75 inches). Wyatt Dorsey earned a sixth-place finish in the long jump with a leap of 6.27 meters (20 feet, 7 inches).

Carter Leininger finished seventh in the 200-meter dash by finishing in 23.092. Clark placed 21st in a field of 40 entries by finishing in 23.81. Teammate Christopher Royal crossed the line in 23.83 to earn 22nd place. Jack Huisden ran a time of 24.57 to capture 29th place overall.

Huisden raced to ninth place in the prelims of the 60-meter hurdles, just missing a spot in the finals field after posting a time of 9.19.

Wabash returns to action on January 11 at the Mount St. Joseph Invitational.
