An all-conference performance in the 800-yard freestyle relay and top performances in the 200-yard medley relay and three-meter diving events propelled Wabash to the top of the men's team standings after the first day of the 2024 North Coast Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Championships at Denison University in Granville, Ohio.

Wabash holds the team lead after one day of competition with 230 total points. Kenyon is in second place with 204 points. Denison is third with 185 points, followed by Wooster (169 points), Oberlin (155 points), and Ohio Wesleyan (106 points). Wittenberg (100 points), DePauw (54 points), and Hiram (50 points) complete the team scoring through three events.

Quinn Sweeney,
John Allen, and
Xander Straw captured all-conference honors with a third-place finish in the 800-yard freestyle relay. The quartet finished the race in 6:47.91, cutting nearly 11 seconds off their seed time.

Connor Craig, and
Daniel Streeter combined for a fourth-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay by turning in a time of 1:34.11.

Wabash scored 75 points in three-meter diving, with three Little Giants earning top-nine finishes.
Nicolas Hakimian earned a seventh-place finish on the three-meter board, scoring 293.60 points in 11 dives. Bernado Morales finished in eighth place with 291.25 points. Alexander Aruzza scored 273.25 points to finish in ninth place.

Competition continues on Thursday, beginning with the preliminary round of the 500 freestyle, 200 individual medley, 50 freestyle, and 400 medley relay at 9:30 a.m. Finals take place at 6 p.m. Thursday evening at the Trumball Aquatics Center on the Denison campus. Â
