Small Track and Field Group Competes at Polar Bear Invite

The Wabash College track and field team sent a handful of throwers and distance runners to compete at Friday's Indiana Wesleyan Polar Bear Classic with Division II and NAIA schools.

Quinn Sholar produced a seventh-place finish in the hammer throw with a launch of 45.77 meters (150 feet, 2 inches). Lane Brockman threw a career-best 44.02 meters (144 feet, 5 inches) to finish ninth overall.

Evan Furuness heaved a new career-best of 41.44 meters (135 feet, 11 inches) in the discus throw to secure seventh place.

Joe Barnett fought for a ninth-place finish out of 90 competitors in the 5000-meter run, crossing the line in 15:06.61. The effort was a new outdoor best for the senior.

The Little Giants did not compete in the Saturday portion of the meet due to cold and sloppy weather conditions. The full team will lace the spikes up again on March 30 when they compete at the Centre College Invitational.
