Brayden Curnutt earned the North Coast Athletic Conference Men's Distance / Mid-Distance Athlete of the Week Award after breaking the school in the 5,000-meter run on Saturday while competing at the Heenan Invitational at North Central College.
Curnutt set a new school record of 14:24.55 in the 5,000-meter run, finishing in third place in the event and posting the sixth-fastest time by a Division III runner this season. Curnutt broke the former school record of 14:44.18 held by Nick Boyce set in 2015.
Curnutt won the award for the second consecutive week. His first honor for the indoor track and field season came after winning the 3,000-meter run at the Mount St. Joseph University Invitational.
