TERRE HAUTE, Indiana -- Wabash scored 13 top-five finishes with four first-place efforts to finish second out of eight teams competing at the Friday Night Spikes meet at Rose-Hulman.

Wabash finished with 34 points, trailing only the hosts from Rose-Hulman with 51 points. St. Mary-of-the-Woods placed third (25 points), followed by Manchester (24 points), Franklin (11 points), Webster (9 points), Oakland City (4 points), and the University of Indianapolis (1 point).

The Little Giants put two runners in the finals of the 60-meter dash, with freshman
Carter Leininger winning the event with a finals time of 7.08.
Julius Hearns also competed in the finals of the 60-meter dash, finishing fifth with a time of 7.26. Leininger also won the 200-meter dash by crossing the line in 22.91.

Wabash went 1-2 in the 800-meter run, with
Will Neubauer leading the way with a winning time of 1:56.51.
David Adesanya finished second for the Little Giants by completing the race in 1:57.05.

Owen Smith,
Morgyn Clark, Adesanya, and Neubauer combined to win the 4x400-meter relay. The quartet turned in a time of 3:28.52 to outdistance the remaining teams by three seconds.

Sawyer Lewis captured second place in the 400-meter dash by posting a time of 53.39.
Jacob Sitzman finished fourth in the 3,000-meter run with his time of 9:04.26.
Jack Huisden added a fifth-place finish in the finals of the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.11.

Lane Brockman earned a second-place finish in the weight throw with his toss of 15.27 meters (50 feet, 1.25 inches).
Jacob Guse placed fourth overall in the weight throw with a top effort of 14.54 meters (47 feet, 8.5 inches).
Hugh Ford scored a third-place finish in the pole vault for Wabash by clearing a height of 4.20 meters (13 feet, 9.25 inches).
Mike Holsclaw posted a top leap of 6.08 meters (19 feet, 11.5 inches) to finish fourth in the long jump.

Wabash returns to action next Saturday at the Indiana Midwest Classic hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University.
