TERRE HAUTE, Indiana -- The Wabash College track and field team sent a group of its athletes to Terre Haute, Indiana, to compete in the Rose-Hulman Twilight Invitational on Friday. The Little Giants accumulated four top-five finishes, scoring 34.5 points to place seventh out of 15 teams. DePauw won the meet with 143.5 points.
Senior
Ryan Papandria finished in second place in the javelin throw with a heave of 51.17 meters (167 feet, 10 inches), a personal best, and the first time breaking the 50-meter barrier.
Senior
Jacob Sitzman secured a third-place finish in the 5000-meter run, crossing the line in 15:32.09.
Freshman
Jakob Van Pelt scored a fourth-place finish in the discus throw with a personal best toss of 40.05 meters (131 feet, 5 inches).
Jacob Guse finished in fifth place in the hammer throw with a personal-best toss of 43.85 meters (143 feet, 10 inches)
Wabash competes at the Indiana State University Gibson Family Invitational tomorrow in Terre Haute, Indiana.
