Tyler Petroski delivered an all-conference performance to lead Wabash College in the heptathlon at the 2026 North Coast Athletic Conference Multi-Events meet, held Saturday and Sunday at the Scot Center on the campus of the College of Wooster. The competition marked the opening segment of the 2026 NCAC Indoor Track and Field Championships, which conclude next Friday and Saturday at Wittenberg University.
Petroski finished second overall with 4,562 points to earn all-conference honors and provide the Little Giants with a strong start to the championship meet. The Wabash freshman showed balance across the seven-discipline event, opening with a time of 7.26 seconds in the 60-meter dash before adding a long jump of 6.01 meters and a shot put of 10.26 meters. He cleared 1.80 meters in the high jump to close day one, then returned Sunday with a 9.47 performance in the 60-meter hurdles, a season-best 4.45-meter clearance in the pole vault, and a 3:00.35 effort in the 1,000 meters to secure his runner-up finish.
Freshman
Ricky Sanders added another top-eight finish for the Little Giants, placing sixth with 4,138 points. Sanders opened the meet with a time of 7.43 seconds in the 60 meters and followed with a long jump of 6.00 meters. He recorded a throw of 8.28 meters in the shot put and cleared 1.68 meters in the high jump to wrap up the first day of competition. Sanders returned Sunday to run 9.20 in the 60-meter hurdles, clear 3.65 meters in the pole vault, and post a 2:58.39 in the 1,000 meters to secure sixth place overall.
Senior
Ryan Adams rounded out the Wabash contingent, finishing 15th with 2,734 points. Adams recorded a 60-meter time of 8.14 seconds, jumped 4.91 meters in the long jump, and produced a shot put mark of 8.85 meters. He cleared 1.41 meters in the high jump before turning in an 11.66 performance in the 60-meter hurdles on day two. Adams matched the top Wabash pole vault clearance of the meet at 3.75 meters and closed the heptathlon with a 3:45.56 effort in the 1,000 meters.
Wittenberg junior Nick Farfoglia captured the heptathlon title with 4,742 points, while Kenyon senior Joshua Greville placed third with 4,547 points in a tightly contested battle behind Petroski.
Wabash collected 11 team points from the multi-events competition. Petroski's runner-up finish accounted for eight points, while Sanders added three points with his sixth-place performance. The Little Giants sit in first place in the team standings entering next weekend's championships events, followed by Wittenberg (10 points), Kenyon (6 points), DePauw (5 points), John Carroll (4 points), and Ohio Wesleyan (3 points).
