Wabash Turns In Four Career-Best Performances at Greenville Select Track and Field Meet

GREENVILLE, Ill. — Wabash College turned in a productive afternoon of event victories, runner-up finishes, and a series of career-best performances Saturday at the 2026 Greenville University Select outdoor track and field meet at Francis Field, highlighted by senior thrower Quinn Sholar's three top-two finishes and first-place discus title.

Sholar continued his standout outdoor campaign by winning the discus with a toss of 47.42 meters (155 feet, 7 inches) while adding runner-up efforts in both the hammer throw and shot put. His hammer mark of 55.21 meters (181 feet, 2 inches) was a career best and led a strong Wabash showing in the event, with Lane Brockman finishing third at 52.75 meters (173 feet, 1 inch), also a personal record.

In the shot put, Sholar added a second-place finish with a top mark of 15.90 meters (52 feet, 2 inches). Jakob Van Pelt contributed another career-best performance in the throws, placing fifth in the discus at 42.97 meters (141 feet).

Wabash also claimed a victory on the track in the 1,500-meter run, where Haiden Diemer-McKinney crossed the finish line first in a career-best 3:56.39. Diemer-McKinney later returned to anchor the Little Giants' fifth-place 4x400-meter relay team that posted a time of 3:22.27 alongside Brock DeBello, David Adesanya, and Carter Leininger.

David Adesanya delivered one of the top middle-distance performances of the day, placing second in the 800-meter run with a career-best clocking of 1:52.91.

Wabash's distance corps added two more podium finishes. Angel Perez placed third in the 5,000-meter run with a personal-best 16:04.10, while Thomas Price earned third in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in a career-best 10:33.68.

The Little Giants also posted strong relay and hurdle performances. The 4x100-meter relay team of Sly Williams, Owen Smith, Tanner Brooks, and Carter Leininger finished fourth in 42.66. Smith added an individual runner-up finish in the 400-meter hurdles, clocking 56.12 for second place.

Wabash returns to action April 17-18 at the Indiana Little State Meet, hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University, as the Little Giants continue preparing for the championship phase of the outdoor season.
