Wabash trailed 1-0 at halftime, but played at a blistering pace throughout the second period. The Little Giants outshot Anderson 26-3 overall, firing 13 total shots in the second period alone. The Ravens took all three shots in the first period before being shut out on the offensive end of the field over the final 57 minutes of the match.
Tommy Pecar drew Wabash even in the 55th minute, taking a pass from
Ivaylo Mantchev on the right side for his second goal of the year.
"This was a tough win in a mid-week game against a much-improved Anderson program," head coach Roberto Giannini said. "Nevertheless when you look at the box score and see how we dominated the possession with 26 total shots and 11 shots on goal compared to 3 and 2 for Anderson, you realize that we dominated the game but still could not find a way to put it away until the second overtime.
"It's a pattern that's developing. We create so many chances and opportunities. We will definitely take the win, but matches like this can create fatigue and stress, particularly heading into the start of the conference season this weekend at Oberlin. Hopefully we can recover physically and mentally."
Pecar and Mantchev each had two shots on goal for Wabash, while Andrew led the offense overall with five total shots.
Matt Paul made one save out of two shots on net over 102 minutes.
Wabash (4-3-1) travels to Oberlin on Saturday for the start of the North Coast Athletic Conference portion of its schedule. The Little Giants play the Yeomen at 4 p.m.
