Box Score A rocket off the foot of senior
Tommy Pecar proved to be the game-winning goal in the Little Giant soccer team's first home victory at Mud Hollow Stadium. Wabash defeated Millikin 3-2 in the final day of the Second Annual Robbie Dreher Memorial Soccer Classic.
Pecar pounded a shot from the top of the box off a centering pass from
Femi Oluyedun to answer a game-tying goal from Millikin minutes earlier.

"We're very happy for the win," head coach Roberto Giannini said. "It's always nice to win at home, but this was obviously very special as the first win in the new stadium.
"We scored some beautiful goals, but more importantly we created a lot of chances. We really played our style of game, which should create a lot of opportunities. We had good crosses, we shot from outside, we changed directions, we built the action with preset plays. But we also improvised, which is always an element of any good attacking team. We put 15 shots on goal and forced their goalkeeper to make some good saves. It's a great way to conclude the weekend. Now we rest tomorrow before we get ready for the University of Chicago on Wednesday."
Millikin's Ryan Schneider is credited with the first goal scored at Mud Hollow Field. He gave the Big Blue a 1-0 lead 22 minutes into the match when he converted a penalty kick. The Little Giants would tie the match a few minutes into the start of the second half when Millikin tried to clear a pass into the box by Wabash, but instead sent the errant kick into the back of the net for an own goal.
Seven minutes after the game was tied at 1-1,
Austin Jennings became the first Wabash player to score a goal at Mud Hollow Stadium. The senior forward was on the end of a tremendous pair of passes that started with a cross-field pass from freshman
George Vinihakis to fellow rookie
Blake Jennings. Blake then crossed the ball in front of the net to his older brother, who then made it a 2-1 contest in favor of Wabash.
Millikin answered with the equalizer seven minutes later when Kevin Price converted on a Little Giant turnover. Wabash continued its excellent passing and high-powered offensive attack over the next six minutes before Oluyedun found Pecar at the top of the box for the game-winner.
Matt Paul faced three shots from the field overall in addition to the penalty kick, allowing only the goal by Price over 90 minutes.
The Little Giants (1-0-1) return to action at home on Wednesday against Chicago in a 5:30 p.m. contest.
