Wabash College Athletics Hall of Fame
Emmanuel Kwame Aouad, you helped usher in an unparalleled era of greatest for Wabash’s indoor and outdoor track and field teams, and literal dominance of the North Coast Athletic Conference.
A record-setting hurdler, you were as good indoors as you were outdoors, earning All-America honors in the 55-meter indoor hurdles – finishing third in the country – and the 110-meter hurdles at the outdoor championships with a seventh-place finish.
It was that first All-American finish – third place at the 2010 Indoor Nationals – that you gave your coach, Clyde Morgan, his first-ever All-American at Wabash.
You were without peer as at the NCAC Indoor Championships in 2007 and 2008 – winning individual championships in the hurdles and long jump. All totaled, you won All-NCAC track and field honors 12 times, including seven individual championships in the hurdles and jumps.
Now, almost 15 years later, you still hold Wabash records for the 55-meter indoor hurdles (7.48 seconds); the 110-meter outdoor hurdles (14.24 seconds); and the indoor long jump (22-feet, 5 inches).
At the end of your senior year, you received the coveted Pete Vaughan Award – with your classmate and fellow Hall of Famer Matt Hudson – as the outstanding athletes in the senior class.
E-man, you were a dazzling presence on the track and a positive influence on your teammates. You continue that same impact today as a rabid Wabash volunteer, faithful Day of Giving donor, and as a member of the NAWM Board of Directors. It is a great privilege to cement your place in history as a member of the Wabash Athletics Hall of Fame.
Emmanuel Aouad, you are Some Little Giant!
