Chris graduated from Aliquippa High School in Pennsylvania in 1951 as one of his high school's finest all-around athletes. A standout performer in football, basketball, and track, Chris came to Wabash in the fall of 1951 and narrowed his focus to football. He lettered four years at Wabash, captaining the team in his senior season. During those four years, Wabash fielded outstanding teams which produced a combined record of 25-7-3 and featured as many as nine players from the state of Pennsylvania. During his freshman year, Wabash went undefeated with a 7-0-1 record, tying Butler 26-26 in the second game of the season. In his senior year, Wabash's only blemish in a 7-1-1 campaign was a 28-14 loss at Ohio Wesleyan. Best of all, Passodelis is proud that he never lost to DePauw, pounding the Danni es in all four of his football-playing seasons. In fact, Wabash shut out DePauw in Passodelis' last three seasons, beating DePauw by a combined score of 116-0 under Coach Garland Frazier. A fierce hitting halfback, Chris, while a captain as a senior, suffered a season-ending shoulder injury in the Valparaiso game. Chris was also one of Owen Huntsman's prize Pennsylvania recruits, who did so much for Wabash football. At Wabash, Passodelis was active in Beta Theta Pi, the Student Council, and the Sphinx Club. In 1981, he was inducted into the Western Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame. A highly successful restauranteur, insurance man, and business consultant, Passodelis has been honored nationally for his work with the City of Pittsburgh, the Multiple Sclerosis Society, and the Boy and Girl Scouts. In 1990 he was the recipient of the City of Hope "Spirit of Life Award". Never letting Wabash leave his life, Chris sent sons William '80 and Chris Jr. '84 to Wabash. In 1980, Wabash honored Chris with its prestigious Alumni Award of Merit, and in 1984 was named to the Wabash College Board of Trustees.
