Wesley Douglas Chamblee, your rare combination of speed, strength, and agility gave you the ability to change the momentum of a football game in a flash – like the time in Greencastle when you returned a punt 44 yards for a touchdown in a 45-7 blowout win over the hapless Dannies.

Your real breakout season should have been 2010, but you instead blew out your knee in the first game. But you came back even stronger in 2011, helping Wabash to a 12-1 record by catching 58 passes, including 10 for touchdowns, and returning four punts and kickoffs for touchdowns.

You were awarded with First Team All-American honors by D3football.com. You earned First Team All-Conference honors as a returner and twice made the All-NCAC team as a receiver.

Over the course of your football career, you caught 154 passes, including 19 for touchdowns, while returning four punts and two kickoffs for touchdowns. Your 4,686 all-purpose yards rank second all-time.

You were also an accomplished hurdler for the track and field team. You were a four-year letterman and a national qualifier in the 400-meter intermediate hurdles, which was a remarkable comeback after knee reconstruction during the football season.

You set the Wabash record for the 400 hurdles with a time of 52.04 seconds and the NCAC Championship record of 52.86 seconds. You won three NCAC Championships in the hurdles and another on a relay. And you showed your versatility by earning All-NCAC honors in the high jump and sprint relay.

Wes, your stellar athletic ability made you a Giant among Little Giants, and your nose for the endzone helped Wabash to one of its greatest football seasons in history. We are honored to enshrine you in the Wabash Athletics Hall of Fame.

Wes Chamblee, you are Some Little Giant!
