Ronald Reinhart, a native of Toledo, Ohio, is well known as one of Wabash's finest distance runners. He came to Wabash in 1957 to run for the legendary J. Owen Huntsman of. Wabash's track and cross country teams. Reinhart excelled in all events, the 880 yard run, the mile, two mile and all of the distance relays. In fact, Reinhart often ran many of those events in the same meet. At the 1959 Indiana Little State meet, Reinhart set a record in the 880, placed second in the mile run, and ran the third leg of the championship mile relay team. Ron and his teammates on the 1961 distance medley relay team set a Wabash record which stands today, 28 years later. In four year at Wabash, Reinhart was a member of seven Little State championship teams, four in track and three in cross country. In 1958 and 1959 he was named a Little all-American in cross country. During his senior season, Ron captained both the track and cross country teams and was named the top student-athlete at Wabash. After Wabash, Reinhart pursued a medical career. He received his training at Indiana University and completed a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in nephrology.
