The 2014-15 Wrestling Team did what had never been done. In spite of Wabash’s long and illustrious wrestling history, no Little Giant team had ever cracked the top five at the NCAA Division III National Championships. That all changed in 2015, when Coach Brian Anderson’s wrestlers finished third overall to capture the first of three straight walnut plaques marking top-four finishes at the Championships. Nearly everything fell into place for Wabash at the 2015 nationals when Riley, Conner, and Reece Lefever each made it to the championship round and Ethan Farmer won his last match to take seventh to become one of four All-Americans on the team. Riley captured a gritty win to repeat as a National Champion en route to winning the Most Dominant Wrestler Award. Conner scored late in his final match to take a tight 5-4 win for his National Championship. Reece dropped his last match to finish as the National Runner-Up, but became Wabash’s first-ever three-time All-American wrestler. The 2015 Wrestling Team was also honored as a Scholar All-America Team with the fifth best GPA in the country; won the Mid-States Invitational; finished second at the NCAA Midwest Regional; took fourth at the National Duals; and posted a 12-2 dual meet record.
