Wabash College Athletics Hall of Fame
A Wabash, Indiana, native, Fred earned a total of ten varsity letters --- two in football, one in basketball, three in baseball, and four in track. A halfback and punter on the gridiron, Fred's kicking game has been credited as the deciding factor in the win over DePauw his senior year. As captain of the track team and state record holder for the high hurdles in 1920, he led Wabash at major national track meets, placing fourth in the high hurdles at the Penn Relays and running on Wabash's winning Drake Relay team.
A Phi Beta Kappa graduate, the only one in the College's history to earn a varsity letter in four sports, Naber remained loyal and active inn Wabash affairs, serving a 1948-49 term as president of the National Association of Wabash Men. He retired as senior vice-president of Chicago's Continental National Bank in 1962.
