Wabash College Athletics Hall of Fame
Mike, the National Association of Wabash Men is proud to induct you in its Athletics Hall of Fame as one of the finest all-around baseball players in the College’s history, which dates to 1866 when Wabash won the first intercollegiate baseball game ever played in Indiana.
Â
You starred as a four-year letterman and captained the team in your junior and senior seasons. An incredible hitter, you were named the baseball team’s Most Valuable Player following the 1974, 1975, and 1976 seasons.
Â
You hit .397 in 1974 – a year in which Wabash beat Purdue and swept DePauw – and as a senior, you batted .375 with 66 total bases and 23 runs batted in. You and your classmates enjoyed a rare distinction: over your four-years at Wabash, the Little Giants swept DePauw, winning all eight games against the Tigers.
Â
The National Association of Wabash Men is proud to recognize your distinguished baseball career and induct you into the Wabash Athletics Hall of Fame. Congratulations, Mike, you are Some Little Giant!
